Poetry has been a healing component for years now. It works in cathartic form to spill from the body what has left poets tense or lingering on the past. Poetry also has such a strong gravitational pull around it's name; bringing in people for late night open mics or writing circles. Maybe it's because with poetry, the rules are up to the poet. There's no detailed manual that describes how to build the 'perfect' poem. The poem can go on for 8 minutes or just 1. The poem can personify your grandmother's house or put a specific taste to a name. Poetry is flexible like this and this flexibility, this ability to break the rules, is what makes poetry beautiful. As a poet who constantly checks the internet for new poems to indulge in, I always stumble across poets and their poems that cause multiple finger snaps and loud applause(I'm very enthusiastic when it comes to poetry if you couldn't tell). I thought it would be selfish of me not to share some of the poems I've come across in the last few months. In this blog, I will share 10 poems I think you all should be checking out. Each poem on this list has it's own style that sets it apart from the others. The storytelling of each poet will take you on a different adventure into reality and just how we cope with reality through our creativity. So, in no particular order:
