This Fall K-Love 4 Art launched the Young Leaders Art Apprenticeship.
Serving Traditionally undeserved and underrepresented young people in the visual arts, the apprenticeship student learns from a professional artist while assisting the artist with their work. One form of this teaching style was the Atelier Method as exemplified by Gustave Moreau who taught Picasso, Braque and many other artists.
Brought to the contemporary 21st Century K-Love 4 Art's Young Leaders Art Apprenticeships are designed to be two fold and include:
1. Art education that focuses on students creating art (Mono-prints & murals) learning to criticize or appreciate art, AND most critical for contemporary art survival
2. The business of Art: Visual Art Job/Career/Employment Training. In partnership with the Seattle Youth Employment 6 wk Apprenticeship placements can be extended each quarter, depending on the goals of the apprentice. Read more here:
